A Home for Liberty at the Heart of the Church: The Embassy for Faith & Freedom
For more than two decades, the Acton Institute has been a steadfast voice for faith and freedom in Rome.
Now, we are preparing to launch a bold new chapter: the Embassy for Faith & Freedom, a permanent and expanded presence near the Vatican that will amplify Acton’s impact on the Catholic Church and the global conversation on religious liberty, economics, and human flourishing.
This initiative builds on Acton’s long-standing work with bishops, pontifical universities, lay leaders, and Vatican institutions—offering a fivefold increase in outreach and engagement. The Embassy will host seminars for visiting bishops, support academic collaboration, provide a platform for discreet, high-level dialogue, and connect faithful philanthropists with mission-aligned initiatives. It will also serve as a welcoming hub for Acton benefactors and guests traveling to Rome.
With Pope Leo XIV calling the Church to apply Catholic Social Teaching to the “new things” of our age—from artificial intelligence to economic instability—Acton is uniquely equipped to support that renewal. To realize this vision, we are raising $20 million to secure a permanent location and grow the staff and programming needed for long-term influence. Your support will help anchor this global mission at the heart of Western civilization, ensuring that liberty and virtue remain united in service to the dignity of the human person.
