Tackling Poverty with Principle
The Center for Social Flourishing supports leaders and institutions working to restore the social fabric through targeted research, strategic convenings, and values-driven partnerships.
By strengthening families, communities, and intermediary institutions rooted in human dignity, responsibility, and faith, the Center addresses social fragmentation with practical, local solutions that foster resilience and flourishing.
A centerpiece of the Center’s current work is a new feature-length documentary on poverty in the United States, directed by Michael Matheson Miller—creator of the award-winning film Poverty, Inc.. That earlier documentary earned international acclaim, won the prestigious Templeton Freedom Award, and was screened at more than 60 film festivals around the world. It challenged the global poverty industry and reshaped the way many think about aid and development. This new project brings that same critical lens to poverty in America, exploring how material, moral, social, and spiritual poverty intersect with broken systems and failed top-down interventions, while spotlighting grassroots efforts that are restoring hope, dignity, and community across the country.
